Efficient demo inventory management triggers return to profit

The Requirement

Whilst this customer’s sales administration department excelled at order processing and invoicing, they were far from skilled in inventory management and logistics. Consequently, SMS was tasked to take over the management of the firm’s 150-unit demonstration ‘fleet’.


The Challenge

Demonstration units – one of the customer’s key selling tools - were frequently arriving either late, or incorrectly calibrated. With 50% of its inventory unaccounted for, the company realised its demo stock had ceased to be an aid to sales, and was actually becoming a liability.
