SMS Technologies provide each of their customers with the solution which best fits their unique needs. The solutions involve some or all of our portfolio of services, all of which are delivered with the highest quality. We ensure our customers have the right components, available at the right time, and in the right place.

Manufacturing : ensuring product quality

All SMS Technologies products meet quality and regulatory standards, as well as the customers' own standards. We are happy to certify this for each component.

All assembly is conducted in our own modern, purpose-built assembly area. We can provide authenticated change control on all products and processes, and can integrate with customer’s change control systems and engineering data systems.

We continually evaluate and improve our processes. Typically, our skilled workforce produces assemblies with mechanical, pneumatic and electronic features. Volumes vary from low to high, assemblies complex to simple. Although the materials we use are predominantly plastic and metal, the range is unlimited; and whilst the products are mostly medical, we also cover military, laboratory and scientific fields.

Inventory management : ensuring product availability

Inventory management is changing in response to the pressures of world-wide markets, reduced time to market, the opportunities of global sourcing and improved manufacturing technology.

SMS Technologies have the experience and expertise to respond to these challenges, and use them to reduce the costs, direct and indirect, of holding inventories.

We are happy to take on and rationalise existing stock. We manufacture or source new products as required, we also manage shelf life and obsolescence. We work closely with our customers to forecast usage.

We take pride in the accuracy of our controls, as shown by our regular stock checks.

Supply chain management

A supply chain is only as good as its weakest link. SMS Technologies manage all the suppliers in the chain to make sure they meet the required standards. We agree and manage KPIs with all suppliers, and ensure all their deliveries meet all the required standards. New suppliers are identified and validated as required.

Logistics : ensuring product delivery

The SMS Technologies service can extend to anywhere in the world. We currently deliver to over 150 destinations world-wide. We offer a complete service including export documentation, online tracking and recording the recipient’s details. We use whichever form of delivery is most appropriate, and can deliver using the brand identity when required.

We take on servicing, service exchange, service return and support for many customers products.
